Our young people grades 1-6 and 7-12 are invited to attend the uniquely Catholic event, Totus Tuus at St. Boniface parish in Elgin 7-12 July.   Totus Tuus, “Totally Yours,” is a fun and energetic parish based summer catechetical program taught by college students and seminarians from the Archdiocese of Omaha. Cost is $10/student or $25/family.  The schedule and registration forms are available online at www.stbonparishes.com under Bulletin and Publications or by contacting Scott & Deb Beckman at 402-843-2334 or St. Boniface Parish at 402-843-2345.

Our Confirmation Candidates are especially encouraged to attend this event.  It is not obligatory, but highly recommended as part of your preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation.  For our Candidates, the program is in the evenings from Sun 7 July through Thu 11 July.  Please consider attending.

We have openings for Mass Intentions in our parish.  Having a Mass said is simply the greatest prayer we can offer for anyone living or deceased.  To offer our intentions to the Sacrifice of Jesus offered in the Mass leads to many, many graces.  We should have a backlog of requests rather than an absence of requests.  To have a Mass said you may talk to Father, call the office, or put a note in the collection basket.

We had four openings on the Parish Pastoral Council this year.  We had four candidates for those seats.  Therefore, we have elected (by acclamation) Tom Lammers, Ed O’Brien, Eddy O’Brien, Stan Schapmann.  Terms are for 2 years.

The Rural Central Deanery “Day of Reflection” for women (actually it’s a half day) will be held on Sat 20 July 8 am - 12 noon at Tintern. The theme is “True Devotion to Mary.”  Additional information will be available at a later date.

Annulments - “Do I need one? How does it work? I have heard it is hard.” The Church teaches that every valid marriage between baptized persons is a sacrament and is considered a permanently binding union until the death of one of the spouses. An Annulment is a process in which a marriage is proven to not be a sacrament. When an annulment is granted, a person is free to remarry in the Catholic Church. There are many misunderstandings regarding the annulment process. If you have questions, please call Father

If you would like to become an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion or a lector, please call Fr. Broheimer.  There is a training on  Sun 25 Aug in Norfolk and a mandation ceremony with the Archbishop on.  Wed 4 Sep also in Norfolk. Attendance at both events is necessary to become a minister.
